What do I accomplish by registering for Going on Record? Cool, ok. By signing up, you will be able to create and store contracts over the internet. These can be simple and quick contracts or more complex and detailed contracts. We call these contracts “Records.” It sounds better. The site is designed in a simple and easy to use format. We strive to help you enter into and store your Records over the internet. The following are suggested occasions when our site will be useful.
* A lease agreement * A sublease agreement * Loaning money or receiving a loan * A company quoting you an estimate over the phone * A simple business arrangement, partnership agreement * A bet with someone (for entertainment purposes only!) * Selling your car, either in person or over the internet * Many, many more uses!
How does Going on Record Work? Going on Record follows a very simple and easy to use process to enter into a Record over the internet. The following is how simple the process is:
1. I send a Record to you. The Record, which is a contract, is the terms of a sublease agreement for you to live in my apartment. 2. You can Accept, Counteroffer or Decline the terms which I have sent. 3. If you:
Accept: If you accept the terms of the Record that I have sent, we are now “Going on Record” and have entered into a legally binding contract. This will be stored privately, for only you and I to see, in our personal folders. DONE!
Counteroffer: This will give you an opportunity to edit the terms that I have sent you. This will allow you to edit the terms to your liking and send the Record back to me. If I accept, we are “Going on Record” and we are DONE! I can also edit the terms again. The process will end after both parties accept. Simple!
Decline: The record request will be denied and the terms of the Record will be erased from the site completely. Do this ONLY if it is not possible to negotiate or talk further with me. DONE!
What happens after we have agreed and are “Going on Record?” Ok, good question. This explanation is very simple. Your “My Records” tab is your mailbox. Your mailbox has two folders. They are Pending Records, and Current Records. When a contract is waiting for either person’s approval, it is in the Pending Records folder. When both parties accept, the Record moves to your Current Records folder. The Records are stored from most recent to oldest.
Confused what folder it is in? No problem, you can easily recognize the Record by its title.
Can people see my personal information or my Records? NO, NO, NO! Come on, we know that people love these two things
1. Privacy 2. NOT BEING SPAMMED!!
Besides your name and user name, your information will remain private. The e-mail address that you register with will also remain private. You can search for a user by their email address if you already know it, but the search will return only their name and user name. Pretty cool, huh? That means that nobody will ever see your e-mail address listed.
Ok, so back to the Records. Any Record on the site in which you have either sent, received or agreed to CANNOT be viewed by anyone who is not involved in the Record. You are however, able to log in and access your Records voluntarily, but no outside party is able to view your Records on their own. Ahhh, Privacy!
Lastly, Spam. We HATE spam. We are cool here. We will not sell your information to anybody, we will not give away your information to anybody. We will protect your information no matter what. Don’t worry!
Will I be able to upload images to further establish a record? Sure!! We like to keep it simple. You are not able to upload documents. This can get messy with contracts. We would hate for you to agree to something you didn’t see, because it was attached and you didn’t download it. You can upload a picture though, if it is necessary to show a floor plan, or a picture of what you are selling, etc. Simple Enough. |
